1. Initial VNG Assessment
Treatment always begins with a videonystagmography (VNG) assessment, a gold-standard examination that precisely identifies the origin of vertigo (posterior canal, horizontal canal, central, etc.).
2. Tailored Treatment Protocol
If the vertigo is BPPV: treatment begins with one or more repositioning maneuvers (Epley, Gufoni, or Semont techniques) to reposition the otoliths.
For persistent or non-positional vertigo:
Active exercises on a posturo-dynamic balance platform to strengthen balance strategies.
Rotary chair therapy for vestibulo-ocular and vestibulo-spinal reflex rehabilitation, particularly for multisensory integration disorders.
3. Comprehensive Care for Chronic Vertigo
When vertigo becomes chronic, it is often linked to a combination of factors:
an imbalanced autonomic or inflammatory state (digestive, metabolic...),
persistent neck pain,
temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.
In these cases, we offer:
A functional medicine assessment to identify systemic imbalances contributing to symptoms.
Specialized orofacial and maxillofacial physiotherapy, in collaboration with our therapists who are experts in TMJ dysfunction and cervical pain.
4. Why Vertigo Is Often Multifactorial
Many patients with vertigo do not have a single cause. The coexistence of cervicogenic disorders, TMJ dysfunction, and an inflammatory or anxious state creates a vicious cycle: muscle tension, sympathetic hyperactivation, proprioceptive disturbances... This model explains why an integrative approach is essential for achieving lasting balance.
